BA in Theatre
Undergraduate students study stage production and the relationship between text and performance. The major includes courses in practical hands-on work as well as the study of theoretical, critical and historical approaches to theatre in order to give students an understanding of all aspects of the art form.
MA in Theatre
MA in Theatre students study theatre history, theory, dramaturgy, playwriting, acting and directing within the vibrant theatre environment of New York City. The graduate curriculum integrates theory with practice and accommodates the various backgrounds and career goals of our diverse student body of theatre professionals, dramaturgs, and educators.
This two-year program focuses on intensive writing, extensive reading, and workshops, all conducted by outstanding industry professionals. Students frequently attend plays in NYC - from Brooklyn to Broadway - and meet with classroom visitors from the New York and international theater world. The final thesis presentation is performed and attended by NYC agents, directors, and producers.
